    Agafay Books is a Moroccan publishing house. We publish illustrated books rooted in Morocco, its art, its nature, its languages and its imagination, for children, for the adults who read with them, and for adults who are keen to learn from books that are beautifully illustrated and imagined.

    Our books are organised into collections, each one a door that opens onto a different world:

    Books that give every emotion a face, a story and a name.

    Albums, portraits of artists and activity books that invite readers to discover Moroccan art and wake up the artist within.

    Before you submit

    We invite you to read the descriptions of our collections first, and to ask yourself whether your manuscript or illustrations belong in one of them. We can only consider projects that fit our vision and are connected to Morocco, through their theme, setting or culture, and that will speak to Moroccan readers.

    What to send

    01.

    A short presentation of yourself and of your project, saying which collection you think it belongs to and why you want to publish this book.

    02.

    For a children’s book, the whole manuscript. For any other book, there is no need to send the whole manuscript: send a summary of the book and a short description of each chapter.

    03.

    If you are an illustrator, a sample of your illustrations.

    04.

    Your language of writing (French, Arabic, English or Tamazight).

    Please send everything in a single email to Editorial@agafaybooks.com: your short presentation in the body of the email, and the link to your submission, shared as a file in Google Drive. Make sure the link is set to “Anyone with the link can view”, or share the file directly with that address.

    How we work

    We read every submission carefully, but we publish only a small number of titles each year, and we may not be able to reply to every proposal. You can expect an answer within 3 to 6 weeks. Our publishing terms are based on royalties. If we are interested, we will contact you to discuss the project and the terms in detail.
